MIAMI, FL (October 1, 2026) – The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) announces the second installment of Fall for the Arts, a multi-month cultural celebration showcasing Greater Miami and Miami Beach’s rich array of programming for arts and culture. Running October 1 through December 6, the program invites visitors and residents to experience Miami through a cultural lens—from exhibitions and live performances to experiential art and community-driven activations.
Since the arrival of Art Basel Miami Beach in 2002, Greater Miami and Miami Beach has emerged as an epicenter of contemporary art and performance, with 23 museums, hundreds of galleries and an ever-evolving public art landscape. Fall for the Arts builds on this legacy, creating a cohesive season that leads into Miami Art Week (November 30 to December 6, 2026) while spotlighting the diverse local voices that make Miami unique.
"Fall for the Arts captures what makes Greater Miami and Miami Beach such a vibrant cultural destination, bringing together the creative offerings found throughout our community," said David Whitaker, President & CEO of the GMCVB. "As we build toward Miami Art Week, our stages, galleries and neighborhoods stand ready to show the world why creativity is at the core of who we are.”
This season's programming spans world-class dance, immersive art installations and milestone anniversaries. Miami City Ballet opens its new season with the works of George Balanchine, the Adrienne Arsht Center welcomes performances from Buena Vista Social Club and Patti Smith, longtime art fairs Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami return for their 16th and 21st editions during Miami Art Week, and The ReefLine's underwater sculpture park adds a striking new centerpiece with the debut of its second phase.
Highlights of Fall for the Arts 2026
This season spans festivals, exhibitions, performances, installations and cultural experiences across Greater Miami and Miami Beach, including:
- Miami City Ballet’s Annual Season (Starting in October): One of South Florida’s leading performing arts companies presents a repertoire of classical and contemporary ballets, including the works of George Balanchine.
- III Points Music Festival (October 16 – 17): The two-day festival is a fusion of underground music, art and technology at Mana Wynwood.
- Miami Beach Classical Music Festival's Celestia, A Symphony of Lights (Select dates between October 17 – November 21): The immersive symphonic experience combines live orchestral music with 360-degree projection mapping.
- Miami Film Festival GEMS (October 29 – November 5): The annual fall showcase presents a selection of critically acclaimed films ahead of the Miami Film Festival.
- Wynwood Walls Artist-in-Residence Program (November 1- January 31, 2027): The museum launches a new residency program for urban contemporary artists, among the few of its kind globally. The inaugural residency recreates the Los Angeles studio of Neo-Expressionist painter Danny Minnick in Miami, with museum visitors invited to observe the artist at work during open studio hours.
- Doral International Art Fair (November 12-15): The four-day art fair features exhibitions with a focus on multicultural exchange, dialogue and the role of art in civic life.
- Miami Beach’s “No Vacancy” Program (Starting November 12): The annual public art program transforms Miami Beach hotels into exhibition spaces featuring installations by local artists.
- Miami Book Fair (November 15-22): One of the season’s signature literary events welcomes more than 400 authors across multiple languages and genres.
- Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami (December 2–6): The longest-running pair of art fairs under one roof returns to Mana Wynwood Convention Center for their 16th and 21st editions. Presented by Redwood Art Group, the fairs span more than 150,000 square feet with 1,000+ artists and 280+ exhibitors. New this year, official nonprofit partner Jackson Health Foundation will receive a $10 donation to Holtz Children's Hospital for every ticket sold.
- The ReefLine – Phase 2 (launching during Art Week): The seven-mile underwater public sculpture park blending art, science and conservation will unveil Phase 2, featuring “Heart of Okeanos” by British artist Petroc Sesti, a monumental rendering of a blue whale’s heart designed to eventually become a reef of its own.
- Adrienne Arsht Center: The performing arts center presents innovative programming from resident companies and local arts partners, along with free community events and cultural learning experiences. This season’s highlights include Buena Vista Social Club, Chucho Valdés 85th Birthday Celebration, An Evening of Songs and Stories With Patti Smith, Marionetas de la Esquina: Superheroínas and Fire · Guitar · Legend.
- Lincoln Road: The iconic Miami Beach promenade serves as an open-air setting for galleries, public art and live performances. New installations this season include student-designed “Deco Portals,” November’s 2026 Request for Proposals (RFP) winner “The Stories We Carry” by Oluwatobi Adewumi and December’s “A Wild Race Against Time” by Gillie & Marc.
- Basquiat: Figures, Signs, Symbols at the PAMM (Through June 6, 2027): Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) presents 10 works by Jean-Michel Basquiat from the collection of Miami resident Ken Griffin, valued at $500 million — a rare opportunity to see this concentration of landmark Basquiat pieces together in one institution.
